Family Picnic & Music in the Dell Event, on Saturday, March 11, 3pm - 6pm
All are welcome!
There will be children’s activities, guided walks to “off piste” areas like Matai Bush and the “Vollies’ track”. Parking will be at the Hub. BYO food and drink. BYO guitars, drums etc.
A new band, the Whareroa Five has been formed by Rachel Kiel-Taylor and Phill Simmonds with Gina Kiel, Joe Simmonds and one other. They had their inaugural gig at the Raumati South Social Club recently. Some of the group will come along and play for 30 mins or so at the picnic. That’s great, thanks a lot.
Rachel and Phill were key movers in the “Saving” of Whareroa back in 2003/05 and Phill’s song: “Whareroa, The People’s Land” is on YouTube: you can find the original video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv69P_TC8_Y
Main gates unlocked 2.00 to 6.30pm; please close the gate behind you. Drive in, following flags to the Hub then, still following flags, walk down the hill and across the little stream to the Dell.
