North Shore Forest & Bird and Auckland Council Arbor Day Community Planting 09.06.2013

https://picasaweb.google.com/forestandbirdns/FBAndAucklandCouncilPlantingDayArahiaStreetJune092013#                                                                                          The plan was to plant 5000 trees on the wet area just below Arahia Street at Tuff crater. This event was organised by the Council with Forest & Bird members and the Kids Conservation Club (KCC) helping too. It had rained heavily in the night and so this normally damp area throughout most of the year soon became  a mud bath which the children and some adults seem to enjoy.

A BBQ was supplied by the Council as a reward for everyones hard work    .

Please see attached PDF for photo slide show and link to google albums for photo coverage of the mornings planting.
