The core area is predominately bush and as the result of our predator control the forest is regenerating with birds returning in numbers to the area. The Trust is also involved in education giving lectures to Community Groups and schools on kiwi survival and forest regeneration with the aid of field trips and in-school demonstrations. The Trust is also involved with Dog Aversion Training. The kiwi population in the area is increasing through the work of the Trust. The Project is run by private landowners and with the help of outside funders it employs part time professional trappers.
