History of Aro Valley Project

A careful selection of modest sized plots and areas has seen, since 2007, progressive planting of over 3,000 locally sourced (WCC Berhampore Nursery) endemic plants. Council assistance (via rangers and other, very able and cooperative employees) and a good neighbourhood network (including using the local newsletter, speaking at public events, leafleting and door knocking locals to advise of our activities) has proven crucial in winning and keeping local support, and maintaining a small but active volunteer group.
