History of Upper Scroggy Stream Sustainable Neighbourhood

Back in 2005 a couple of neighbours were restoring the stream under the old Council Green Network programme. In 2010 the Sustainable Neighbourhood programme took over from this and we decided to approach more neighbours to join this programme as a vehicle to expanding the stream restoration. We now have about 80% of one tributary being restored and restoration work has started on the other tributary. Weed control and replanting the wetland and riparian areas is ongoing, along with possum control. Over the last couple of years 740 plants have been planted, prior to this about 200 plants were planted. Possum trapping and baiting has been carried out since 2006.
