Traffic-free open day on Maungawhau-Mt Eden

  • Free entry to Government House grounds
    from 10am to 4pm
  • Free guided walks

  • Take a picnic, enjoy the views, and explore the maunga without any traffic!

Guided Māori history walks of the summit:
10:30pm and 2:30pm
Guided tours of Government House grounds:
10:30am and 2:00pm
Guided geology walk with Dr Bruce Hayward,
author of Volcanoes of Auckland:
12:30pm (visitor centre)
Displays and music (visitor centre):
10am to 4pm
