Whareroa Guardians Community Trust receives grants

Good news: $8'000 has been awarded in a grant by the Lion Foundation to the Whareroa Guardians for plants for 2018 (for the Ramaroa Wetland).

This will be enough for around 2'000 plants.

Many thanks to the hard work of Rachel and Ann for the sucessful application (and many thanks to the Lion Foundation)!

This news follows the grant of $2'610 mentioned in the recent Supporters' Update of awarded by the Wellington Community Trust to fund the painting of a mural on the Kiwi Caravan and to purchase display cabinets.

In connection with the Caravan project, we are trying to find old photos and information about its use on Kapiti Island to provide historic information. DOC staff are working on this. The Kapiti MenzShed volunteers are busy working on the restoration of the caravan to make it into a useful shelter
