The Grampians Hill is the backdrop to Nelson City (to the East) It is an area of 161 hectares and rises from the City to a height of 392 meters.
It is notable for the Transmission tower and tall masts on its summit and is visible from a wide area around Nelson and Tasman Bay.

Locals volunteers installing and maintaining a series of traps that specifically target unwanted animal pest species, to encourage the return of Native Birdlife.
