The Omori–Kuratau Pest Management group (OKPMG) is a registered charitable entity of 15 permanent resident volunteers in Omori and Kuratau who carry out a planned and regular programme of trapping and controlled poison activities to prevent the predation of local birdlife from stoats, feral cats, weasels, ferrets, rats, hedgehogs and possums).

The volunteers service 180 DOC 200 traps and 77 Goodnature A12 gas-fired possum traps on a weekly basis. This includes trap clearing and burial of predators, re-baiting and re-setting of traps. D Block RatAbate poison blocks are also used in sealed Rat Cafes for six months of the year as an additional means of killing rats and other predators.
