Taniko Walkway, Omaha Beach Committee
Community group focused on the long term restoration, protection and enhancement of the Auckland regions last remaining Kahikatea forest, located on the Omaha Sand spit. Our goal is to extend the forest to the public walkways, as well as create a 4km public access walkway through the forest. While our group has strong individual skills, it is a project that will require significant fundraising, and collective desire by the local community to complete the project. We will be interested to speak to other groups who have constructed both metal and boardwalk walkways through forests and wetlands.
