Controlling pest plants

Exotic plants now outnumber native plants in the wild in New Zealand. Many of these are invasive weeds, threatening our indigenous ecosystems. The links below provide information for ecological restoration groups about identification, control and responsible disposal. This includes national advice and also region-specific information.  Most rural trading stores (e.g. Farmlands, Wrightsons) supply agrichemicals along with application and safety equipment. We recommend reading information for your region as well as the general advice so that you get the best, most locally appropriate advice.
